•  when I add the grades manually on the grade book the final grade does not update (even if I hit refresh, or leave the page and come back on)

-> Grader report page doesn't update Course Total. The grades only can be edited.

First of all, I recommend you export grades using export menu.
There are two ways to upgrade Course total.
First one is to use  Grader report > Single view.
1. Select grade item


2. Check any Override  All/ None button. and Save.

3.  Uncheck  Override  All/ None button and Save.


The other is to use  Grades >Gradebook Setup > Course total  Edit.

1. Click Edit calculation on Edit.
2. Add ids on subtotal.

3. Insert Calculation using id. 
     ex) =sum(1+2+3+4)
4. Click Save changes.

The courses I TA have a few grades which have to be manually input (e.g. participation, paper exam), but somehow when I add the grades manually on the grade book the final grade does not update (even if I hit refresh, or leave the page and come back on). Any idea what I am doing wrong?
